Contour etching provides new options for the manufacture of very complicated geometric designs - and the process is completed without stressing the material. Using a sophisticated photo technique, the customized geometry is transferred to the metal plate, which is then 'punched' by means of etching from both sides of the completely even item.

Contour etching facilitates the production of perfectly uniform, even items - completely free of burrs and tension in the material. And what's more, texts, bending lines and additional details for normal mechanical finishing can be etched in the same production flow - and even at various levels.

Materials details

Contour etching can be performed in metal sheets in the thickness range of 0.025 to 1.2 mm and a maximum sheet size of 400 x 600 mm. The materials most commonly used are German silver, brass, mumetal, tin bronze, beryllium copper and stainless steel.
