Thermo King manufactures transport temperature control systems for a variety of mobile applications, including trailers, truck bodies, buses, shipboard containers and railway cars.

Requirements for the development of a keyboard:

• Function in all kind of weather at any place on earth with living humans - NO EXCEPTIONS
• 1 mil. actuations
• Minimum 5 years life expectancy
• Mounting directly on flat painted metal surface without edge protection

The result is a membrane switch solution with a special weather proof design using special assembly techniques for adhesives. Cost effective standard raw materials are used to avoid expensive exotic materials.
