Roll-to-roll flexible printed circuits
Mekoprint A/S develops and produces customised single- and double-sided flexible printed circuits. With more than 20 years of experience, we continuously optimise our production and invest in new technology to maintain our premium quality and low cost position.
Mekoprint flex film products are produced in a state of the art roll-to-roll screen printing process. This technology allows for high automation, low cost with complex structures in high volumes; high precision and high repeatability. This makes us highly competitive among suppliers worldwide, including Far East manufacturers.
Since Mekoprint A/S manufactures complete solar cells and integrates them into customer products, you get one partner assisting in all processes from idea to final solution.
Organic solar cell processes
Mekoprint A/S has competences in design for manufacturing of printed electronics, handling of printable organic materials and related manufacturing processes and technologies.
In short, technologies from the laboratories are converted into mass-scale production.
Solar cells based on Process One are manufactured through the below listed steps. For a deeper technical description of the process, please refer to the publications by
Prof. Frederik C. Krebs (see acknowledgements).
Starting with a PET carrier foil with conducting ITO on one side, the process for manufacturing Process One are as follows:
- R2R screen printing of etch resist on ITO
- R2R etching of ITO and subsequent stripping of etch resist
- R2R slot die coating of electron transport layer, photo active polymer, and hole transport polymer
- R2R screen printing of silver contacts
- R2R lamination of encapsulation
- R2R solar cell characterisation
- Slicing and delivery on rolls or
- Laser cutting, SMD mounting and integration for final product.
