Innumerous design options

The development of silicone mats has created countless new possibilities for the design of keyboards. Individual colours can be cast directly into the mat, be spray-painted or sponge-printed. The durability of prints is optimized by the application of coatings. The surface can have a silk matte or glossy finish. The coating increases the keyboard resistance to dirt and dust significantly. Background-lit keys and areas can be added serigraphically with transparent colour or laser-engraved in exactly the required contours.

Contact - in many ways

Contact elements, typically graphite pellets, are cast directly into the key. However, it is often an advantage to use the silicone keyboard on a membrane switch with poly domes or gilt metal domes as contact elements.
